I am beautiful

this spectacular flower grows twice a year indoors. It twists and turns and the colour is breathtaking. Fortunately we have one at home to admire. Enjoy it

With the time approaching let’s celebrate the coming of the new year.

I love the effect of the light through the petals, almost translucent. Something about the stamens being out of focus doesn't quite work for me, not really sure what it is though. Possibly I would postprocess the very bright light on the top left too so the focus is on the petals... Pretty colours - how big?

@Bronnie: thank you for your ideas. It was focused on purpose there. The pedals are 3-4 cm long and 1 cm wide. kind regards Dimitrios

Super...super colours and composition. Just lovely. Echo Bronnie re the stamens though - think that would really improve the shot. Very nicely done though.

Fantastic flower and great capture. I tried to take photos of a similar looking flower and trying to get clarity on all the flower was difficult aswell. I like this though it's kinda 3D. If you want to really show off the size of this you should try to put some perspective in the picture for example next to or in a vase or with a background that shows off it's size. Just my thoughts.

Nice to have a subject like this around the house to photograph in different lighting and settings. Very pretty - I like the way the light is softly coming through the petals.
