it is an amazing flower growing in the sand in the south beach of Rethimnon, in Crete. I was wearing shorts so bending on the hot sand was not very nice but it was worth it when I saw the pictures on my monitor. Enjoy it.

Yeah mate great job. The shadow compliments the picture very well I can't believe such a beautiful flower grows out of sand.

@Colour blind: They grow in this area all summer, it is amazing that there is only sand there. The place is called AGIOS PAVLOS in Rethymnon, Crete island. People go there for meditation too!
I never knew lilies can grow out of sand. At first I thought it was a lily you set up (i.e. stick it in the sand), but found it amazing after reading your title and comment. Fabulous idea and capture!

@Lyndsey Le: no no , I wouldnt do such a thing. There are more than 300 plants in the sandy area on the side of the clifs. This place is not very touristic, everyone respects the flowers. Kind regards Dimitrios
