Ioannina-Greece 02-13

Nature blends with metal in the old cemetery near the museum at the top of the hill overlooking the city of Ioannina or Yannena as the locals like to call it.

Nice pic.. indeed i was discussing with my wife about photographing cemetaries here as a project Dimitrios! We have varieties of graveyard designs here! Maybe next month!

Very interesting image! Life growing in an unexpected place. I like how the shapes of the moss (?) somewhat echo the shapes seen in the metal flower.

I wouldn't change "Purely Snow" for anything! "Purely Hayfever" and "Purely Tanlines" don't quite sound as nice as Purely Snow!

This is so lovely! Who would have thought it from a piece of metal and a bunch of weeds. I don't know why they are so hardy! They seem grow anywhere. Now our snow has gone, my patch of garden is covered in small weeds such of this. I have to stop feeding seed to the birds I think - they have scattered the seed and it has grown! Fragile wild crocuses are coming up through the grass - they weren't there last year! Such a mystery!

lichen! haha.. just had lecture on them. they re actually made up of fungi and algae. not actually one organism. haha. love the detail and the contrast between the 2 colours.. seems like an invading alien race!
