silver city of Ioannina Greece 07-13

Posted by Dimitrios (ATHENS, Greece) on 28 February 2007 in Lifestyle & Culture.

Ioannina is famous world wide for its silver craftsmen. It was a flourishing market in the old days, with customers as far as Australia and the USA. Economic recession makes the business less attractive these days bur Greeks continue to give silver gifts in weddings and baptisms. This photo was from a shop-window. There is a bloger somewhere there, can you spot him?

With the time approaching let’s celebrate the coming of the new year.
Post one image on December 25th with a Xmas wish.
