Larissa 1967- Larissa 2007
Where was our youth gone? Did it find a nice path to walk? What was the outcome of all our efforts and battles raged? Are our memories full of dust? Why is it that we feel the need to visit them from time to time? We use to take uncle Nick’s bicycle in secret. Youth- nothing to worry about-happiness. The joy came from small things at no cost. Expectation for our present. Strength for the future that awaits us.
I dedicate this with the deepest respect and love for my birth place, Larissa in Greece Dimitrios a blogger at aminus3.com.

That is just lovely Dimitrios. Your words are touching and definitely a fantastic accompaniment to the image. (Your shot remnds me very much of a bicycle with a white background I posted last year.)

@Helen: thank you Helen, I shall pay it a visit, who knows maybe they come from the same factory! ha ha, take care Dimitrios
Great photo! With your words, it becomes a very sad yet joyous photo. Is Larissa anywhere near Thessaloniki?
14 Apr 2007 12:27pm
@Lydia: hi there, Larissa is only 1 hour 20 minutes by car from Thessaloniki to the south, easy to reach. A spectacular ancient theater is in the centre of the city worth taking a look, a river and park compliments the area too, population today about 130.000, best regards Dimitrios
A typical and peotical image, a very nice and symbolic story... I just need to smell the air of the site, to ear greek people and to eat there fabulous meals! That was my nostalgic think, not so poetic than yours!
14 Apr 2007 1:58pm
@Henri Rabagny: your feelings for Greece seem genuine, thanks
wow! this is an antique thing! do you have other pics of this bike?
14 Apr 2007 6:05pm
@Kukushka: no just this one, regards D
Deeply moving thoughts behind this photo. All decrepit bicycles are sad to look at. At least we get a discrete rear view here. Wonderful composition -especially the white and rust contrast, and caption. Congrats Dimitrios!
