You captured the harsh sunlight really well! In situations like this one I sometimes experiment with the "beach" and "snow" setting on my camera with often very good results...

i really love the bleached look of this scene, the harsh sunlight is shown clearly, and also its effects on the countryside. The monastary is like an old old man ,weatherbeaten by life and time, but content to be.
