silver city of Ioannina Greece 07-13

Posted by
Dimitrios (ATHENS, Greece) on 28 February 2007 in Lifestyle & Culture.

Ioannina is famous world wide for its silver craftsmen. It was a flourishing market in the old days, with customers as far as Australia and the USA. Economic recession makes the business less attractive these days bur Greeks continue to give silver gifts in weddings and baptisms. This photo was from a shop-window. There is a bloger somewhere there, can you spot him?

Ha! Ha! We get a silver tea service (exquisite craftsmanship) and Dimitrios looking like Inspector Clousseau! (Is that how you spell it - I've forgotten?) Maybe we will see a Pink Panther tomorrow!

28 Feb 2007 3:32pm

@Anne: ha ha , I take it as a compliment since I adored the film, who knows pink is one of the colours I like? regards the inspector C-D!

Shawna from Regina, Canada

I see you that little Pentax is a great camera isn't it. I haven't try mine under water yet but I want to!!

1 Mar 2007 4:58am

@Shawna: no no do not do it, seriously. I tried mine last summer and after 3 minutes it took in water. Pentax in Greece has to send it abroad to be repaired, it took 3 months! I was very desapointed but that life in the modern world, products do not deliver what they promiss, regards D
