The battle of Fontana took place on August 1822. Greece was occupied by the ottoman empire and it was the time that heroes were made. One of them the famous Odysseus Androutsos is shown here. This kind of picture was common in the old houses many years ago, not so in our modern houses.

Interesting history; well taken. He sort of reminds me of old pics I've seen of "Vlad the Impaler" who fought the Turks also from Romania.
